This course has been created to make that process easier to understand. Vanessa takes you through Miniature Schnauzer grooming step by step, sharing the techniques, tools and knowledge she has developed through decades of grooming, breeding, exhibiting and competing with the breed.
You'll learn not only how to hand strip, but also the importance of the Miniature Schnauzer breed standard, correct coat preparation, carding, bathing and drying, scissoring, clipping and finishing techniques.

About Your Instructor, Vanessa Parsons
Vanessa Parsons has been part of the professional grooming industry since 1990, beginning her career at just 16 years of age when she purchased her first grooming salon. More than three decades later, she is an International Master Groomer, grooming educator, international judge, award-winning competition groomer and specialist Miniature Schnauzer breeder and exhibitor.
Miniature Schnauzers have played a significant role throughout Vanessa's career. She has bred, exhibited, titled and competed with the breed for many years, while continuing to develop her knowledge of correct breed grooming and hand stripping through experience and education with highly respected Miniature Schnauzer breeders and groomers from around the world.
Vanessa began competing in grooming competitions in 2009 and went on to represent Australia as a Groom Team Australia touring member in 2014/15, competing in the Terrier class at the World Team Grooming Championships in Italy. Her competition career includes three Best in Show wins, with a Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle and West Highland White Terrier, along with multiple Master Class, group and class wins. She was also Queensland Royal Grooming Champion in 2012 and 2013 and part of the winning MasterGroom Australian Team Champions in 2019.
Her experience extends well beyond the competition ring. Vanessa has judged grooming competitions nationally and internationally, presented seminars and workshops across Australia, held industry leadership and certification roles, and is a co-founder of Groomer Nation. She is also a Director of the Quokkas Australian Grooming Team, helping support Australian groomers representing their country on the international stage.
In 2024, Vanessa received the PIAA Pet Industry Pioneer Award, recognising her long-standing contribution, achievement and involvement in the Australian pet industry.
